In those 33 days, I spent my time going to Los Angeles, a small town called Solvang, San Diego, Austin, Houston, Hong Kong, Singapore, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Sydney. It sure was an adventure and I just want to give you one tip. Don't forget to do an online check in via the Internet. It helped me a lot. I was traveling with a big family throughout the trip and we always got good seats that were not separated from each other. For more information about seating positions, you could go to www.seatguru.com. It's very good and I recommend it. Josh ID2202 - If you are flying for a special occasion and plan to carry presents in your hand luggage, don't forget to check hand luggage restrictions first. Make sure all presents are permitted in cabin baggage, and remember that the liquids in hand luggage rules apply to presents too. Do not giftwrap them as they are subject to security checks and may be unwrapped. If you are uncertain about carrying any item in your luggage, check with your airline before packing. For information about deals on Gatwick Hilton Hotel parking plus accommodation at Gatwick Airport, be sure to visit gatwick-hilton-hotel-parking.co.uk. Paula Garrett ID2194 - Recently we decided to take a week's holiday in Southern Ireland (very good BTW). The thing is, we managed to get a good deal on our flights with a low cost airline from Manchester Airport. When we went online to the Manchester Airport website to look for a parking place for one week, we found that we would be paying MORE for our parking than we did for the airline tickets ... which is crazy ! My wife searched online for an hour or so and eventually found a website which compares airport parking prices. The upshot of this was that we managed to save more than 50% on what we were quoted from the official Manchester Airport website. Our tip is this ... definitely take time to shop around, even if it takes a while - it will be worth it. I mean, who would want to pay more for parking their car than for their flight! Here is the website we found: UK Airport Car Parking Comparison Site. Chris ID2195 - I find that a combination of several common tips goes a long way toward preventing flying problems, or at least making them more tolerable. I go with one carry-on, make sure it's a little smaller than the minimum size, bring my own food and drink onto the plane, bring at least one good book if not two, eat in the airport before the flight, and get to the airport a little early. I've never had to check a bag, and I've never had missing or damaged luggage. I've never been bored during flight delays. I've never been hungry or thirsty on flights. A little preparation goes a long way. Thomas Miller ID1193 - When boarding the aircraft, make a mental note of all exits, and count how many seat rows you pass from the exit to your row. This will expedite your escape route in case of an emergency landing if there is smoke and/or power loss in the cabin. And by all means, pay attention to the flight crew! No matter how boring or uninteresting it may sound, their instructions are vital ... and read the aircraft emergency procedure manual completely before takeoff. These are located in the pouch right in front of you. Do this - it pays to be prepared for flight. Knowledge is power, and armed with the basics you can sit back and enjoy your flight.
