18 19 20 21 22 [Next] - I take advantage of the free continental breakfasts at most chain hotels to enjoy a couple of pieces of toast each morning. A recent stay at a major chain found the butter in the little packets in a refrigerator. Nice touch, but for a quick eat-and-run it makes it almost impossible to spread the butter. Now I just place it on the toaster while my bread is toasting, and by the time my toast pops up the butter has melted just enough from the heat of the toaster to make spreading a cinch. 24-Dec-2002 Bob McConnell ID1427 - Stuck over the weekend in an unfamiliar city? I check the hotel lobby for that big rack of tourist information pamphlets. During my most recent stay I found a coupon for a free appetizer at the local restaurant and 2 or 3 neat places to go within a couple of hours' drive. 24-Dec-2002 Bob McConnell ID1432 - Enjoy the sites and your vacation more! At the end of a visit to a town, take a walk down to the tourist stationery store. Somebody else has shot several rolls of film to get that perfect shot of the building, statue, bridge, waterfall or scene. Most postcards will cost less than you'll spend to buy the film and developing, and they won't fog at the airport checkpoint! The stationery store will charge less than the castle or museum shop. 1-Jan-2000 Robert Balch ID1231 - If two of you are travelling together, each one should carry a different credit card. If one is stolen or lost, you'll still have a valid one. Also, if magnetic strip goes bad, you still have the other one to use. Travel Kiosk 1-Jan-2000 Travel Kiosk ID1259 - Lighten your load by packing clothes you can wear several times. Then when you have a two night stay or longer at one hotel, wash clothes. After washing your clothes in the sink or bathtub, ring them out well. Luggage straps hooked together and hung near an open window make a great clothesline. In a day or two, you will have fresh, clean and dry clothes. 1-Jan-2000 Rachel Thompson ID1252 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
