  • Don't Carry All Your Cash in One Place

  • - In a hotel room, split your cash in 4 and hide it in different suitcases and places, so that if you get robbed, you always have something left.

  • Don't Leave Home Without It

  • - Take an extra debit card just in case you lose your first one. Pack food for the flight - you know how airplane food is. For tropical weather, tale board shorts. I wear them every day, and they are so comfy. Bring sunscreen. It's usually overpriced when you're traveling. I like the idea of photocopying your travel guide and bringing it with you so you can write on it, get it wet, lose it ... • Dress in Layers

  • - The combination of a windbreaker over a sweater over a shirt or blouse over a T-shirt offers you many more options than one light layer and one heavy layer.

  • Dry Hotel Air?

  • - To combat dry air in the hotel room, fill the bathtub with hot water and keep the bathroom door open - this will allow moisture to escape to the whole hotel suite.

  • Easy-to-Fix Travel Nuisances

  • -
    1. Ring Around the Collar:
Dirty neck rings around shirt or blouse collars can be removed by putting shampoo on them. Rub the shampoo in as if you were washing your hair. Shampoo is made specifically to remove body oils, the 'ingredient' of neck rings.

    2. Removing Gum:
You can pick up just about anything on the soles of your shoes. Removing gum can seem like one of the most difficult things to do. The solution? Rub ice on the gum to harden it, and then use a dull knife to remove the gum. The gum will come right off without damaging your soles.

    3. Killing Flies:
Are there flying insects in your hotel room? Hair spray will kill flies and most other insects.

    4. Drying Out Wet Magazines or Books:
Place paper towels on both sides of a wet page to absorb the moisture and prevent wrinkling.

    5. Lingering Onion or Fish Smells on Hands: Can't get rid of onion or fish smells on your hands? Wet them, sprinkle generously with salt, and rinse.
