Save time by having the exam before you leave, and take the lessons when you arrive! 3-Jun-2001 T Ehlers ID230 - Swapping your home for a few weeks not only saves money, but makes new friends. Do it state to state or country to country. 4-Aug-2005 Holi-Swaps ID1007 - This is mainly for campers or back packers, but it's a good homemade fire starter. You will need some newspaper, string, a candle, and a 35 mm film container. First, cut the newspaper into strips about 1 inch wide and as long as you want. Then roll the strips into a bundle and tie it with the string. Now you have a roll. Melt wax over the paper (be careful). After the wax has hardened, place it in the film canister. This is a great way to store it. Now when you want to use it, just take the waxed paper out of the film can and tear it slightly on one end and light the torn part. It will burn really well and get a decent fire started. The wax will act as a fuel and burn for a while. Just don't light it while it's in the plastic film can - the fumes can be dangerous. Use common sense and it will work great. It is great for someone who wants to save money and space. 11-Jun-2001 Richard Doyle ID252 - For a richer, more memorable travel experience, try to immerse yourself in the local culture. Break away from the tour group and talk one-on-one with the locals. Take local transportation (ask your hotel staff about after-dark safety), shop grocery stores (a great source for inexpensive souvenirs), pharmacies (look for scented soaps, lotions) and especially the outdoor markets. Befriend your hotel staff, learn their names, and seek from them information on what the locals do for entertainment. 1-Jan-2000 Anonymous ID1250 - The air in the hotel room can be very dry, especially during the winter season in European countries (from my experience). Therefore, wet a few towels and place them on the bedside table next to where you are sleeping to increase the moisture in the air. 16-Sep-2001 Florence Leow ID345 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
