10 11 12 13 14 15 [Next] - An easy, efficient way to pack your things: buy gallon-size zipper bags. Pack toiletries separate from clothes to prevent a shampoo explosion from ruining them! Also, pack clothes in bags, then sit on them and seal them - this vacuums all the air out and flattens your clothes for more space! Diane Leigh ID1674 - Get the exact size of suitcase you're allowed less an inch for give (I got 27x19x15) and anything made of material put in a plastic garbage bag and suck the air out with your vacuum cleaner hose. It vacuum packs it down to a fraction of the size (of course that's kind of hard to do on the return leg!) Just don't use a razor blade to open the boxes... The Personal Travel Experience of Gary Steiger The Personal Travel Experience of Gary Steiger ID281 - If you are doing relatively extensive travel by rail, have a small bag and a large bag. Put two days worth of clothes, etc., in the small bag, everything else in the big one. Ship the big bag (by rail) to your destination two days away, carry the small bag with you. On arrival at the destination, retrieve the big bag and take it to your hotel. Recharge your small bag with new clothes, etc., dump the used stuff, souvenirs, etc. in the big bag, and ship it again downstream. Baggage shipping is usually free, or minimal cost, with a ticket. Robert Fabris ID776 - Pack clothing in complete bundles; i.e., one shirt, one pair of pants, one set of underwear, matching socks or hose, jewelry, etc. There will be no time lost trying to decide what goes with what, and children can be handed a bundle and told to go put it on. The Highlander Bed and Breakfast, Houston, Texas ID795 - When packing items that break (cologne), or spill (shampoo), I place them inside a plastic coffee jar. This is a double protection - from breaking and from spilling. I also place my battery-powered razor in one, so that it does not break. I travel only with a backpack, and these things can get smashed if not protected.
