This is very handy when you have to search through your bag for a particular item (i.e., on a train, bus, or at an airport). Not only do you not have to re-roll, but everything can be quickly and easily replaced. 1-Jan-2000 Rachel Simmons ID788 - Collect empty film-containers!!! They are SO useful. I've collected them, and then I use them to bring small amounts of pins/safety pins, hair clips, yes - even TOOTHPASTE! The containers keep the items dry and safe. (Toothpaste will keep fresh.) Also, rolls with bills and coins fit into the containers. Another good tip: Before travelling be sure to bring some thread in the same colors as your clothes; take a small piece of cardboard and wrap the thread around it. Keep extra buttons, needles and thread in an empty film container. This will always be handy to have, for small repairs. 1-Nov-2001 Sofia Lokke, Norway ID370 - Expanding upon the lauded 'Roll' technique of packing, try rolling two or three items of the same type together. Three pairs of trousers, for example, rolled together will be little more than the size of one paired rolled solo. The room you save will be amazing. 1-Jan-2000 Mason Lamb ID767 - When you are packing, put several fabric-softener sheets in between all your layers of clothes. These will make your clothes have that 'freshly-washed' smell for weeks, and the sheets can serve as dividers (dividing shirts from pants, etc.) so you can choose your clothes easily. 1-Jan-2000 Renata Harrison ID763 - Film canisters are excellent for packing all sorts of things - (a small first aid kit of a few bandaids and alcohol wipes) but don't use them for anything you will be putting in your mouth. (Toothpaste, dental floss, etc). Film chemicals permeate the plastic, and are not recommended. 6-Jun-2004 Christina ID1653 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
