They take up almost no space at all and can have countless uses. I've used garbage bags as pack covers, as extra insulation for a sleeping bag, to patch holes in a tarp, as a raincoat (in an emergency) and as a waterproof layer inside baggage. Once you travel with garbage bags, you'll wonder how you got along without them. 1-Jan-2000 S.B. Armstrong ID716 - When traveling by air overseas, pack in your carry-on a small bag of ginger pieces. You can chew on these when you start to feel airsick and queezy. They help your stomach settle down. 1-Jan-2000 Erin Williams ID724 - Be sure to either wear a wristwatch that has an alarm, or take a small travel alarm clock. You don't want to oversleep if you need to be somewhere early. Plus, if the face glows in the dark, you can check the time in the middle of the night without disturbing others. 1-Jan-2000 Vickie Rabourn ID675 - If you can't live without your hair straightener and have to bring it with you, then it can also double as a travel iron. I sometimes iron out creases in my clothes with straighteners. 7-Aug-2004 catherine ID1684 - When travelling by airplane, bring along those little massagers that fit over your thumbs. Have your seatmate do your back and shoulders. Since you're not supposed to move around, it will help your circulation. Plus, it relieves travel stress instantly.
