Lost in a jungle, use it to set up a bonfire or to flash for rescue. 24-May-2001 Nicole C. ID219 - One thing I always ponder over when travelling is how to keep repacking a soggy piece of soap (eg.in the case of backpacking). I recommend bringing one of those body washes that come in plastic bottles. Although this takes up more room, it will reduce the hassle of a wet bar of soap. 19-Sep-2001 J Jal. ID347 - Always take a 'candle in a tin' - great for less than dependable electric service areas and for feeling cozy and/or romantic. One of those heaters for a cup of hot water is also great for cozy evenings to make cocoa, tea, and soup. Scarves or large pieces of cloth are good for beach cover-ups, to cover your head for churches, etc. - even halter dresses at beach resorts. They use little packing space. Also, don't forget clips or clothes pins or diaper pins, etc. to close hotel curtains, mend hems, secure cloth 'dresses or tops', and money pouches under clothes. Plan to wash items, and don't forget you needn't have a fresh outfit every day - the locals rarely do. Watch how locals live, and try to eat as and where they do and save lots and lots of money while enjoying being a part of the world in which you're traveling. 26-May-2007 Deb ID2033 - I always pack 2 small spray bottles - 1 with bleach and 1 with rubbing alcohol. These are indispensable for killing germs/fungus in shower stalls and toilet seats, and can be wiped off with toilet paper. Plus the alcohol keeps the bathroom mirror 'fog free'. However, be sure to keep the bottles inside a double plastic ziploc bag to prevent any leakage. 1-Jan-2000 Elizabeth P. ID670 - For those of you who travel with "dressy" items that wrinkle easily, instead of taking an iron, there is a spray ... you spray a small amount onto the clothing, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then smooth it out with your hands. I have seen this item at MANY travel shops. If you run out of this item, another easy way to get wrinkles out is to hang the article of clothing on the bathroom door while you take a hot shower. The steam will take the wrinkles out. 1-Jan-2000 Felicia Gallo ID715 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
