Not only will you have a record of your expenses ... but you are sure to get an exchange rate that you can verify. Check your hotel or (preferably) a local bank for current rates. Shops and businesses will often 'pad' the exchange rate just a bit ... so be careful. When you MUST use cash ... (craft markets .. roadside vendors .. etc.) use Jamaican dollars which you can obtain from any bank (prices will almost invariably be better in Jamaican $ compared to US $).... DON'T 'sell' your dollars on the street.... unless you have lots to spend! Sea Palms on the Caribbean, Ochio-Rios, Jamaica ID1139 - Volcano Arenal in Costa Rica is a really cool place to visit. You actually get to see lava coming out of the crater and the view is even more amazing at night. Due to the amount of fog in the area, I recommend that people stay in one of the resorts at night or camp out near the lake to increase the chances of seeing it.
