Use an airport transfer service, which will take you and collect you from the airport, etc. from outside the terminals, and can carry your party in one car/bus for a fraction of the price of taxis, trains, and buses. Find them local in your area in most directories or newspapers in the summer months. 22-Apr-2001 Dale Devey ID128 - Commonwealth citizens between the ages of 18 and 27 may apply for a working holiday visa BEFORE they leave their home country. There are conditions that apply, but once the visa is issued it entitles the holder to live and work in the UK for a preiod of 2 years. It is a fantastic opportunity to see the whole of the UK and get to know the friendly people of this fantastic little island. Jobs are available all over. From bar work to telesales, as long as you are willing and able you can earn some pocket money to finance the next bit if travel. Have fun, and enjoy! Working Holidays in the UK 18-Dec-2003 Working Holidays in the UK ID59 - This is a fab tour of Brighton. It is unique, in that you don't have to book or even buy tickets for it. I got sucked into it while passing the meeting point on the pier and was so glad to have found it. I learned so much about Brighton from the lively fun guide and was surprised to learn that they don't get paid to do this; as a result they accept tips. What a fantastic tour - affordable and accessible to all! I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning a bit of Brighton's history. It meets at the Brighton Pier Tuesday to Saturday throughout the summer at 11 am and 1:30 pm. 28-Aug-2008 Claire Smith ID2098 - When traveling in England, keep in mind that unlike many other countries worldwide, English folk do not like to be paid in US dollars; they only accept British pounds. 3-May-2001 lmp ID192 - When travelling to the U.K. with your hair dryer, electric shaver, etc., don't forget to buy an adapter to fit in the U.K. sockets before you leave home - or at latest in the airport upon arrival. You are unlikely to find these adapters commonly available anywhere else in the U.K. Adapters are available in all electrical shops, but these are for U.K. appliances to fit non U.K. sockets, i.e., for when U.K. citizens are travelling outside of the U.K. Don't forget that U.K. voltage is 240 volts - it will fry your 110 volt appliance without the correct transforming adapter. 4-Aug-2005 The Old Mill Private Hotel, Nannerch, North Wales, UK ID1125 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
