4 5 [Next] - When travelling in Ireland, we found the 'Rough Guide to Ireland' book to be the most informative. Also contains good recommendations for bed and breakfasts or hotel accommodations in all areas. Aanson Lodge Self Catering Accommodation, Killarney 29-Mar-2005 Aanson Lodge Self Catering Accommodation, Killarney ID1786 - To save on transport costs, you may want to add 90 pence to your daily tubepass (4 GBP) to get you to Heathrow Airport rather than paying around 12 GBP to take a bus from the Victoris bus station to bring you to the same destination. However, this is not practical for those having many suitcases, as you may need to climb many flights of stairs at the tube stations. 16-Sep-2001 Florence Leow ID346 - We've just returned from London with our children. There were four of us all together. We quickly learned that everything is expensive! The hotel and bed and breakfast rooms are charged PER PERSON at most places. For meals, there are many 'take away' shops which are like small delis. They have room to sit down and eat but beware ... There is a 'Take Away' menu and a 'Sit down and eat' menu. Sitting down will cost you double the money. If you simply take the food out of the deli to eat, it is much cheaper! 1-Jan-2000 Cindy Stoewer ID1124 - If you plan to travel extensively around the UK and plan to visit many smaller towns and villages you should avoid doing this on a Sunday, as you will surely be disappointed. Many of the smaller attractions (like regional museums) and tourist information centres are not open, especially from November to March. 1-Jan-2000 Marie Foster ID1119 - People will tell you to skip the London Tour Bus, and take one of the regular double-decker buses for a fraction of the fare. This is not good advice! If you are a first timer wishing to know London, do take one of the tours offered such as 'the original London tour' or 'The Big Bus', or any of the other reputable tour companies. Their tour lasts 2 hours if you don't get off at the numerous stops - but you can tour all day, because the tickets are valid for 24 hours. You can get off any time at any stop, see the sites, and enter the many attractions for which you can buy tickets from the tour operator (and save hours of standing in line). You save a lot of time and money if you take full advantage of the 24-hour offer. 1-Jan-2000 Mira Jenik ID1121 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
