  • Camping is Inexpensive
    - Camping is an inexpensive way to travel, especially with children. A camper even provides a stove so you don't have to pay for restaurant meals. State parks offer low cost with lovely surroundings, and often provide many of the same amenities as much more expensive campgrounds.

  • Circle Island Tour - Oahu, Hawaii
    - If you are taking a trip to Hawaii for the first time, and your destination will be Oahu, a good suggestion is to take what is called the 'Circle Island Tour early in your stay. When you first get there, find the free brochures that are placed in the Waikiki area sidewalks. Go through them very carefully and you will see many tour offerings. There are also very good discount coupons to be found on many other things. Let it be your guide bible!

Don't be scared to take a lower priced tour, as these are most likely a large van instead of a bus. This gives you the chance to interact with your guide on a more personal level. This tour, taken early on in your visit, will give you the chance to see what Oahu has to offer to tourists. You will probably change some of your pre-planned activities in favor of new-found things to do or see.

While on Oahu, don't fail to walk Waikiki at night. The temperature is very nice and there is usually something going on that will please any visitor!

  • Dress for Volcano Tours
    - Often folks come to the Big Island of Hawaii to see the volcano. They sometimes do not realize that the volcano is at a cool and sometimes cold 4000 ft. elevation and in a rain forest that often exceeds 200 inches a year. So for those who wish to visit the world famous Kilauea Volcano they should be reminded that they may need warm clothes, rain gear or a 'large clear garbage bag' and a flashlight 'for those who wish to see the night show' (required by the National Forestry Service). Many have missed seeing the volcano after spending thousands of dollars in travel costs to see it by not having these tips.
