If you do not have time for a shower the baby powder will absorb the moisture and perspiration on your skin and make you feel refreshed. (Good also for camping, touring other countries, or anytime you're 'roughing it'.) 1-Jan-2000 Kari Huber ID1035 - Be careful when using baby powder. Instead, try cornstarch. Baby powder (containing talcum) has been linked to cervical cancer and other cancers. I know that my mother used to use it all the time and now doesn't. Cornstarch-based powders are just as effective. 1-Jan-2000 Heather Booth ID1031 - I lived in Hawaii for 18 years, and this is something we do if you do happen to get a sunburn: buy some powdered milk and make a milkbath for yourself. Run some lukewarm water in a bathtub, dump in a package of powdered milk, and soak in it for a while. It takes the sting out. You'll still be red, but the pain will be lessened substantially. Even Cremora seems to work. 1-May-2002 Judy Sweet ID504 - When travelling through desert areas FOR ANY REASON, AT ANY TIME OF YEAR, make sure you have warm clothing, a blanket (a mylar space blanket is fine), a couple of PowerBars, and at least 1 gallon of water per person. The region may be warm during the day, but even in the summer temps CAN and DO drop below freezing on a regular basis. Car problems can leave you cold, hungry, and thirsty very quickly if you aren't prepared. This is especially important if you are travelling with children, elderly people, or anyone else at special risk. 22-Dec-2001 sedim ID410 - If you are traveling to Orlando and plan to visit Disney and area water parks, don't forget to bring a beach towel. There are lots of rides at Disney where you get wet and you will end up buying a beach towel (which they conveniently sell by these rides). Also, hotels will charge you if you take towels out of the rooms. So if you bring a beach towel for each one of your family members, you'll end up saving money! 11-Feb-2006 Orlando Family Fun ID1568 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
