Using your front pocket for wallet/valuables is simply not safe; Kids will notice it, grab it from behind, and run away. Sure, you'll feel it, but you won't be able to catch them. Ronald G. ID892 - Do not wear or carry ANY external carrying devices - purses or fanny packs, - in any city. Purses are snatchable targets and fanny (or belly) packs are openable in crowded trains and buses. Wear clothing with front pockets for casual necessities, or use black nylon hideaway pouches attached to your belt and worn under your clothing for important items. Pouches worn on a string around your neck are grotesque, to say the least. Bob Riordan ID900 - If you can, get a toilet cubicle next to a wall. You can put all of your bags and things between the wall and your leg. It minimizes the risk of someone reaching under from the next toilet to take things, and takes away the hassle of having things on your lap while trying to go to the toilet. Kate ID1358 - While getting pre-travel immunizations, prescriptions, and special travel instructions from your doctor, be sure to leave a note outlining where you plan to travel and how long you will be. If your physician receives an emergency call in the middle of the night, he or she will already have some information at hand in case of garbled phone calls or unclear information being relayed by the person calling.
