Perforated sheets can be purchased at office supply stores for a reasonable price, and if our kids meet someone they would like to hear from again they have their information already to give out. 1-Jan-2000 Jennifer Allebach ID926 - There's nothing like a good long stretch to help relieve car seat cramps. If your children are in booster or car seats, they will definitely need to move around every so often. Look for parks, rest stops and other locations that offer not only the chance to stand up, but an opportunity to play. Rule of thumb: a 20-minute break for every 2 hours on the road -especially with little ones. The Caldwell Family Showcase of Adventures 1-Jan-2000 The Caldwell Family Showcase of Adventures ID945 - When I travel with my 4- and 1-year-old, I take some cartoon DVDs to play on my laptop. This has come in handy at airports when we have had to wait up to 7 hours to catch our next flight. Great on long distance trains too! 6-Oct-2001 nalini raj ID359 - When traveling with my 3-year-old on long flights, I have found the best thing in the world to keep her occupied! It's called chalk cloth - a piece of fabric with a chalkboard-like material on the face. It keeps her busy for hours with colored chalk for pictures, and drawing guessing games. It folds up and fits in its own travel bag, taking up very little space. My daughter begs to play with it when we are at home! A definite must have! ChalkCloth.com 18-Dec-2003 ChalkCloth.com ID1483 - I've noticed that it really helps when kids are allowed to feel like they have a say in the travel itinerary. A lot of times the 'traditional' mostly-inside planned vacations aren't too great for the kids. Make sure you stop frequently on road trips to let the kids run around and play outside for a while. If you're staying at a hotel or in one location, find a local square, park, pile of rocks (especially good when wandering around Great Britain - all those castles!) that the kids can play in - run, scream, torture siblings, etc. It helps ease stress. 1-Jan-2000 Tess Bohn ID941 Would You Like to Add a Travel Tip?We welcome QUALITY travel tips from our users.Note: you will be required to enter the characters from a security image, so please make sure that you have your browser set to view images.
